introduction

.whois.

A strange picture of my own. Here is some further information about the author of this page. because many people asked me for putting a photo on my ~page, I decided to satsify their whish. i don't know if you agree to them now, any comments will be appreciated. The photo was taken in summer 1999, with an obvisously bad set up web cam. anyway, more photos are available in my image gallery.

Introductions on webpages are allmost boring product presentations - wheter it is a commercial page, or more or less stupid listings starting from the first baby photos and ending at images from the new car, the house and the wife - on private sites. Now, it's difficult to keep the reader's attention by complying to the structural and technical constraints of the design on the one hand, and not presenting such humbug I described before on the other hand.

So I decided to keep it very short for a quick, jokey overview, and a more extended version, for those who like to participate at my interests (well, I don't believe that there is realy someone outside there, is it?).

.fast.faster.this one.

First of all let us get a timeframe based (cv like) overview. It's more a funny presenation of real events. Take it as it is.

70s

Creation.
Baby Berni was born. It was a devine moment. Many people smoked dope, I hope my mother didn't :-)
I grow up with all the Wickie, slime and piper stuff a children had to handle in those times (I prefered the "Familie Barbapapa" cartoon :-).

80s

Wild, new generation.
Adidas Jogging Hi - even if I never had one, BMX bikes and computer games (C64, you remember?). And I was just prospering in a little country, called Austria. I got in contact with all that supid things, a teenager has to handle. I searched for my first jobs while school holidays and used the wages for alcohol, clubbings and my Vespa scooter.

90s

Enhancement.
I made my final exam, attended military services and began my studies. It was the time of my first intensive contact with the women and the internet (a contracdiction? - certainly!). I got mobile with my first car, a VW Golf I. All that ended up in my first bungee jump, a realy great event.

00-...

Expect the unexpected.
What will happen in the next millenium? Well, I hope to repair my Vespa sometimes, earn enough money with my shares, will get at least three children and one nice woman!

.Children's.stuff.

I have a theory (no, I don't have a dream): The older someone becomes physicaly, the more intensively he remembers his early days stories. At least this theorem can be applied to me. You too? Oh no, I just hopped to falsify it... which means the theory would be proofed as scientific, refering to Sir Karl Popper.

Anyway, those children stuff, like cartoon series, children TV shows aso where typical for the late 70's and 80's. Nowadays a much more comprehensive type of entertainment is spread over the planet via television and DVD.

The tricky strategy is not to be designed only for children, but also to inspire adults. Some typical representatives of that cartoon species would be "The Simpsons" and furthermore "Futurama", both created by the genius Matt Groening.

And yes, I'm outing: I'm addicted to Futurama; I like Bender, Fry & Co. A fabulous cartoon show. You MUST take a look! Fun guaranteed.

.hobbies.and.other.activities.

Sometimes, unfortunately much too rare, I can free some hours after my studies, my job, my projects and so on - just for me and my hobbies. It's often not much, but more than a simple, small break. Here you can get some information about those lousy things I'm concerned about.

.Sports.

Doing sports is very important for me - not only because it's healthy. Doing sports and working on the PC fits in a well formed equilibrium of physical and psychical effort. The type of sports, I prefer, offers a good trade off of fun, training and attraction.

In summer, I like to ride my mountain bike over the highest rocks, the deepest mud and the hottest spots. Read more about that fascinating sport on my updated, separated biking page.

Action sports, like german flag bungee jumping, parachuting or rafting - that's what I like most. The more adrenaline, the better it is. This compensates the almost boring coding jobs (have you ever tried to build a Java based CORBA application? - No why, should you :-).

Squash is another fantastic type of sport. Fast moves, hard balls, sweating people and all this on a small, boxed court - that's german flag squash!. Sounds great, doesn't it? Well, in winter it's a good way to keep my training non-performance...

Skiing is the most popular winter sports in Austria and yes, I do it too! Carving, skiing big foots, snowboarding - any snow related winter activities will be apreciated.

Last summer I had the chance to attend a golf course to receive the so called "Platzreife" (hdcp -54) and finally this summer I made the "Turnierreife" (hdcp -45). Despite its reputation as a sport for rich people only, golf becomes slowly but constantly a kind of mass movement in Austria. This my also be pushed by real cheap golf clubs as my own german flag gc2000.

And last but not least, of course, is the always culty experience of riding my Vespa. Vespas are motorrollers - but not like the common japanese one. Vespas offer a flair, any other roller will never be able to. Riding a Vespa, means obtaining an image. "Cu @ de nXt EuroVespa!"
